Doris E. Dillon

Doris E. Dillon, 98, of Zanesville died Thursday morning, April 26, 2012 at the home of her daughter, Lois Knight, in Zanesville. Born August 29, 1913 in Zanesville she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Vada (Miedel) Taylor and was a graduate of Lash High School. Mrs. Dillon was also a graduate of Merideth Business College of Zanesville and was a member of Central Presbyterian Church. She was a former member and Past Worthy Matron of Frazeysburg Order of Eastern Star and was currently a member of Olive Branch #251 Order of Eastern Star at Duncan Falls where she recently received her pin for 75 years of service to the organization. Mrs. Dillon was a seamstress, she enjoyed china painting, cross-stitching, growing African violets and she was a fabulous cook. Surviving are a daughter and son in-law, Lois and Kenneth Knight of Zanesville; a son and daughter in-law, Warren and Jean Dillon of Cincinnati, Ohio; four grandchildren, Todd Dillon, Katrina (Michael) Sarka, Deborah (Paul) Miller and Sarita (Mark) Fenn; seven great grandchildren, Kathryn, Dillon and Bryan Miller, Dillon and Ryan Sarka, Taylor and Zane Fenn; a sister, Margaret Neel of Kent, Ohio; a sister in-law, Mary Taylor of Zanesville and several nieces. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of over 70 years, Leroy J. Dillon whom she married September 8, 1933 and who died March 18, 2004; three brothers, Richard, Edwin and Howard Taylor and a brother in-law, Jasper Neel. Calling hours will be 6 to 8pm Sunday, April 29, 2012 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Calling hours will also be for 1 hour prior to the service, which will be at 11:00am Monday, April 30 at the funeral home with the Rev. Ray Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery Olive Branch #251, OES will conduct Eastern Star services at 8pm Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 40 North 6th Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
