NEWARK:  A funeral service for Ella Elizabeth (Wright) Wintermute, 90 of Newark, formerly of Granville will be 2:00 p.m. Friday May, 11, 2012 in the Newark Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas C. Olson officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. 

   
Mrs. Wintermute died Monday, May 7, 2012 at her residence. She was born June 9, 1921 in Granville to the late William and Hannah (Ericson) Wright.

    
Retired from St. Regis as a telephone operator; she was very active in the American Legion Post 85 Women’s Auxiliary and was a Past President. She enjoyed reading, gardening and bird watching. An avid swimmer, she swam in the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. A favorite pastime was attending her grandchildren’s sporting activities.

  
She is survived by her son Bruce (Christine) Wintermute of Wauchula, FL.; granddaughters Melissa (Heath) Hieronimus of Newark, Mary Spain of Newark, Nicole (Mike) Fraunfelter of Powers Lake, ND.; great-grandchildren, Heath Hieronimus, Savannah Hieronimus, Madison Fraunfelter, Luke Fraunfelter, Caleb Fraunfelter, Emmalin Fraunfelter; sister-in-law, Joyce Wright of Sebring, FL.; special friend, Saretta Lowe of Newark, several nieces and nephews.

   
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Wintermute in 1978; a brother, John Wright; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth & Ralph Jolliff.

   
Calling hours will be observed from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME, 1850 West Main Street, Newark.  The American Legion Women’s Auxiliary will conduct services at 5:45 p.m.
