U.S. Veteran

A Mass of Christian Burial for Leo M. Fink, 64 of Rushville will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 228 S. Columbus St., Somerset, Ohio with Father Jordan Turano, O.P., celebrant.  Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery. Military funeral honors will be conducted by the Leo Ryan Post 58 of the American Legion.     

Mr. Fink died Thursday May 10, 2012 at the Fairfield Medical Center. He was born February 7, 1948 in New Lexington to the late Stanley and Anna Mae Fink.     

A 1966 graduate of St. Aloysius High School in New Lexington, Mr. Fink was employed for the past 24 years as a technician with the Boeing Company in Heath.  He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of the American Legion, Leo Ryan Post 58 in Somerset and Holy Trinity Church.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Leo spent many hours working in his vegetable garden. His family was the most important blessing in his life.     

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janice A. (Studer) Fink, whom he married April 24, 1971; children, Craig T. Fink of Rushville, Marcie A. (William) Gordon of Somerset, Vicki M. (Ryan) Young of Thornville, Tracy J. Fink of Rushville; grandchildren, Devan Gordon, Leah Gordon, Owen Gordon, Eli Gordon, and Luke Young; sisters, Rita Kelly of Heath, Doris Muncie of Pickerington, Barb (Ed) Fink of Junction City, Paul (Joan) Fink of New Straitsville, Joe Fink of McConnelsville, Mike Fink of New Straitsville; and several nieces and nephews.     

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Hinson; and two brothers in-law, Charles Kelly and Bill Muncie.     

Calling hours will be observed 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at BOPE-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME, 203 S. Columbus St., Somerset.  A Rosary service will be held at 8:30 p.m.     

The family requests memorial contributions to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, P.O. Box 190, Somerset, Ohio 43783-0190.
