FRAZEYSBURG – Dale L. Modesitt, 64, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Thursday afternoon, May 17, 2012 at his home after a brief illness. Born July 27, 1947 in Parkersburg, West Virginia he was a son of the late James L. and Mary A. (Jarrett) Modesitt and was a 1965 graduate of Union High School. Mr. Modesitt was an Army veteran serving during the Viet Nam War. He was a retired union laborer and worked for many years at the R. R. Donley Company. He later worked at Schwebel’s Bakery. Mr. Modesitt was a member of the Rocky Fork Church of Christ, he loved gardening and was a avid outdoorsman enjoying both hunting and fishing. Surviving is his wife, Cheryl (Keller) Modesitt whom he married September 16, 1974; a son Michael A. (Sherry) Maharg of Danville, Ohio; a daughter, Mary P. Modesitt of Buena Vista, Virginia; four grandchildren, Kylie, Aaron, Wade and Joseph; two sisters in-law, Phyllis Modesitt of Frazeysburg and Christi Modesitt of Heath, Ohio and four nieces and nephews, John (Ann) Modesitt, Jimmy Modesitt, Jennifer (Lester) Morningstar and Kim Ridenbaugh. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, James L. Modesitt, Jr., Paul R. Modesitt and Gale L. Modesitt. Calling hours will be 5 to 8pm Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third Street. Funeral services will be 10:00am Monday, May 21, 2012 at the funeral home with Evangelist Scott Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Fallsburg Cemetery.
